Happy New Year

Postby Jasper2002 » Fri Dec 31, 2004 5:05 pm

Hiya guys.

Happy New Year to all members, guests and casual visitors.

We embrace 2005 with a new hope for the future, a better understanding of ourselves and each other. I would like to wish the best of luck to those who have friends, relatives and countrypersons caught in the terrible tragedy that has befallen Indonesia, Thailand and the Asian Coutnries.

As a guild our hearts go out for you and your loved ones. Dispair is not the future, but hope and relief.

I want to to wish you all a prosperous and beneficial New Year, with joy for all and a future of challenges and rewards.

Be safe if your travels and be happy in yourselves.

Thank you Jasper. I hope the year of 2005 will bring safety and happiness through the world though I fear part of it's inhabitants will do their best to destroy it or it's inhabitants.

To Cerberus I'd like to say that I hope 2005 will bring happiness and prosperity. I know that many are in the process of leaving, or have allready left the game itself. This is a fact I can both understand and grief since I, myself left the game about a year ago for SWG. The reason for my recent return is actually split in two halves:

1. I missed my old friends. Cerberus and RKFF before it was the sole reason for me to log in and play the game. You guys have made a standard that beats any guild I've ever been a member of, before and after. The reason for this is ofcourse the leadership, of wich I'm extremely proud of having formed somewhat myself during the early years, but also te fact that it has during the time of my abscence thrived and grown to be a standard that succeed any guild I've ever known. I'd like to point out here that I've been an online gamer since most of you guys was still wearing diapers..... :p I'm one of those who even played the first series of Doom online. I was in the early league of Team Fortress of Quake I and I ran a guild early in the days of QuakeII. I played my first online game back in 1979 and I formed my first "guild" in the mid eighties. I have never, NEVER found a guild with the heart and soul as Cerberus before and after I left Anarchy Online and that fact was the main reason for me to reactivate my account and return to Anarchy Online.

2. I have tried several other mmorpgs after Anarchy Online and I have found that, though the lack of content promised to be in the release of AO, the game itself brings content and a challenge to master like no other game still on the market. Sure, other games are interesting and more modern in terms of game technology, but not a single mmorpg have brought more ingame challenge and diversive content than Anarchy Online. Not even Everquest wich is the oldest and largest mmorpg ever. So I returned to my roots. I was here at the Beta, hoping it would be anything like Starwars-like, since that was what I was looking for from the start. When SWG was released, it was for me the natural step to move to, but after a while I realised it had no real challenge, no real reason to make me log on and play. The content, however vast, was nothing compared to Anarchy Online. I realise I was somewhat late in my enlightment to this fact, mainly because my fanlike interest in the Star Wars environment. They didn't really put enough effort into making the storyline continue, to make the game interesting RP-wise. This makes me pretty sure that many of those who leave the game now for, let's say WoW, will return someday with pretty much the same story as I have now told you.

At the end, with all the bugs, discouraging tweaks of professions, lack of content, lack of profession love you have all endured during the years I'm sure, comparing to other mmporgs you see online today you will find that Anarchy Online will bring you the most action, RP and content per buck you pay. I'm not telling you to stop looking elsewhere, on the contrary, I want you to compare Anarchy Online to other games! Check them out. Play them extensively and make your choice. I'm sure that many of you will find a game that will entertain you for some time. Perhaps so much that you will say that it's way better that Anarchy Online. I'm just looking from my own experience, one I think is vast, and I'll tell you that in one way or another, you will find that Anarchy Online brings you the most varied experience.

Sorry to post such a long reply, but I felt it was needed to actually tell my story and to tell you all that I really like Cerberus and Anarchy Online.

Prosperous New Year to you all and a very nice post from Bigswede. That's an awful lot of gaming experience there. For a moment I thought I had found a Cerb who was older than me. :-''

Happy New Year guys - I hope we can all still play together & carry on using each others abilities when needed.

It's always more fun when there's a pack of us creaming some 'high level' mob... :D
