I'm no Mac lover either. But there are two good things you can say about them:
a) They work (usually). After all, it's components are designed for optimum performance and cooperation between them
b) You can't really upgrade hardware for Macs. So you don't invest shitload of money into components which will be outdated by the time you bring them home and unwrap them.
