RKFFer Feyth and myself were out on a mission recently, which took us into deep desert down the Longest Road. For speed we travelled in reet form.
The road itself was rather quiet and uneventful, but the desert is a dangerous place indeed. We became the target of a number of stray wolf and scorpiod, and only just made it to the mission cave.
We rested in the cave 'foyer', then continued to successfully complete the mission, for which we both received a Clan token (although mine was kind of... looted) and also gained a level of experience.
Then came time to return to West Athens. We made our 'escape' plans, expecting to be jumped by nasties as soon as we stepped back into the desert. To our good fortune there was no danger in the immediate area, but we spotted roaming wolves. I quickly put us into reet form again, and we set off.
Now I had no idea we were in the fast-food business, but quickly we gained the attention of hundreds of ravenous scorpiods, spiders, and wolves!! I had a huge trail chomping my tail feathers, and was surrounded by many many more. It was an amazing sight! The desert was a crawling carpet of bugs. My heart was pounding, my wings straining, but I knew we had no chance of survival at the mouths of these beasts.
Fortunately we had scanned beforehand in Bliss. We calmed down, had a rest, and then an easy flight back to West Athens.
I did manage to snap a couple of photographs, which I hope to put on the gallery soon. Amazing stuff.
