A while back Jpegg had a thread about getting together outside AO for a good old fashioned shoot-em-up. I'd like to know who is still interested in this brilliant idea! I put up a poll on what game you would want to play the most. Half-Life mods would probably be the easiest to get since most are free to download as long as you have Half-life.
The next problem will be finding a server that both Americans and Europeans can get a good ping on. Lets see what we can do. :)

Been playing Quake, Halflife and Battlefield over the years online pretty much. Mostly BF lately so if you would want backup I could help out. Either Q3 or BF. I have lost my key to Halflife so I wont be playing that

That is, if you would have an old geezer like me playing with you guys. I'm not even a AO player anymore lol!

Oops! can't belive i forgot Unreal Tournament 2003/2004! if you voted for UT, specify which one kthxbye

also, does anyone know if a server can be hosted reliably with a cable connection? I'm considering switching to DSL but dunno when.
I think we can also rotate games for some variety.

Hey LilBurst... I don't think a Cable modem would be able to host a game, or a high traffic web site... maybe some low ql stuff.. or something that isn't downloaded much. You need to keep in mind the Upload transfer rate when you go into hosting. I've found that DL is great with a cable modem, but if you try to upload anything, it's about all you can do.

Too bad I just reinstalled the machine I recently used for mainly for battlefield server. Otherwise I could provide. I've had 16 players on it without any problems. Now it's just an ordinary winxp workstation again :?

I voted UT, but might as well be UT 2003 if that's what most of us have.
