Ok... wait a second:
first on topic:
1. JP... hang in there. Its the first three days that are the hardest. After that, the worst symptoms of addiction will have passed. Know though that residiues of nicotine stay in your system for around 7 years. When you first started smoking, it made you sick. The stimulant receptors in your brain tend to develop a habit pretty fast. Nicotine is among the most addictive substances on this planet. When you quit smoking, the nicotine level in your bloodstream drops beneath a certain tolerance level pretty fast since the stimulant receptors in your brain got used to having a constant minimum of nicotine on average around. Once it drops below that threshold, your psyche prompts you to smoke, manifesting itself in physiological reactions (cold turkey syndrome).
Over time, nicotine gets flushed out of your system very slowly. Your body gets used to traces of nicotine being around and the said stimulant receptors in your brain use that amount of nicotine to go around. Over time, that tolerance level of nicotine drops repeatedly under a certain level, your body got used to. Thats why so many people develop a craving for cigarettes after 3 weeks, 3-4 months... 1 year... 3 years...
just because Nicotine stays in your system for such a long time. Think of nicotine as a radioactive isotope with a certain degrading time...
There is nothing that can help you from abstaining for good, except for your own will to do so. Good luck my friend... I have been there... and have failed times and again. Stay strong and you will be alright.
2. @ Sorroe:
I trust that should I ever appear in one of your dreams, it would not appear in a dream featuring cold turkey-cold sweat horror scenes... I absolutelt trust that it would be in a dream that would warm your heart where you would wake up a bit dazed but happy....
(ok...ok... cut your comments. If you want to survive out there as a soldier, you better develop an ego... if nothing else)
3. @ Sorroe and especially @ Buglight
WTF!!!! Don't you people have a home???! What are you doing here squatting on the Cerberus forums? Shooo! And don't you think it to be strange that you end up meeting Buglight here, of all places??? Isn't a certain RP guilds forum a better place to celebrate your reunion??? Go home... shoo... ::mrgreen:
((j/k of course))
Sid
P.P.S.: To my guildies who don't know so much about me: This diatribe was all in jest. Buglight, Sorroe and me are old guildies who go a long way back together. Back in the day, we were all in WE. Buglight and me used to have that constant RP jabbing going on, much to the rest of the guilds delight. Sorroe proved to have an equally sharp wit, tongue and heart... so she was the natural addition to the circus. Alas, Buggy left AO for quite a while, me and Sorroe subsequentially left for other guilds...
BY THE WAY:
July 13 (my RL birthday) was my 1 year anniversary of joining the RKFF after quitting WE!
