Hmm, interesting. Can't say I know anything about Shadowlands, but this article makes it sound a lot different than I expected.

The "getting started" additions are a bit odd. How many new people are going to get AO and Shadowlands at the same time? I would think experienced players might get the expansion, and they'd already know all about creating a player, etc
