Hello there Cerberus,

let me present myself, Im Soko, red-Spandex-Man for the friends.

Some of you might have seen me in the Guild Chat as I have applied to enter this lovely guild a couple days ago, and have entered the Trial Week 8)

I 've been around since .. well, the european launch of Anarchy Online, so that would make me .. ooo old :-'' Havent really been active since the launch of SL and only recently got back on, as gimped as I left offcourse :D/

Seeing I'm going through a rather stressy and rough 6 th semester of courses (yeah .. 6) I m afraid I wont be on all that much yet, but I do hope we 'll get to know eachother, and it ll be luv on first sight!

O I 've also been told Cerberus doesnt have a guild radio, thought I might be of help as I have been doing some streaming for a while and would like to offer that service to the guild, if people feel like it offcourse. Can try and manage bandwith issues once people get interested.

Ciao Cerberus

Well, I managed getting a Shoutcast radio stream running without to much hastle, but I would need people to play relay station, trust me its much fun *coughs* becaus my upload only supports 3 listeners 8)

Its nothing hard, just need to get a little piece of software and Ill explain how to set it up, I then connect to the relay station to stream and the listeners connect to it aswell. : )

It's just an idea, but thought it would be fun to use that bit of knowledge I have in that domain to get something going.

Offcourse it's only interesting if people feel like tuning in, so let me know if all of you out there want a guild radio? *waves*

Heya all,
thanks for the warm welcome by the way ;)

Im still quite bussy with doing project work for my studies so I wont be all that active yet, so I thought I 'd run a little stream of my playlist while I'm working on the PC anyways.

That way it can be a type of stresstest of how less my connection can really handle ;p

To connect to it just browse to : http://217.136.88.3:8000

Dont pay to much attention to the styles of muzik playing as its just randomly playing something in my main playlist.

The url of the radio isnt static as I have ADSL and a dynamic ip, but Ill make sure to post the new address as soon as I crash and remember it. ;)

There arent any life sets yet, or any mixing, DJing or presentation, as its just my playlist ;°
Planning on adding those along the way once the radio gains in popularity :)

Ahwell, give it a try and tell me if the quality is good (48Kb/s), and if the stream is smooth, its all still in tweeking and tuning stage. You ll need winamp though, not sure if Windows Mediaplayer is supported .

Ciao all ;)

Just trying it now. Got 56K dial-up and it's stuttering for me :( Thought it should handle this quality of stream, darn. Heh.

I'll just whistle my own tunes :-''

Oh but I like Evanesence - Surrender!

Hmm.. I could provide a lower bandwith stream together with a higher one once I can get some people to relay, my upstream is 192 kbps, so could do a 96 kbps for the people with a speedy connection and a 36 kpbs one for the dial up users.

Can you notice I ve been stuck doing IT for the last 2 years ? ;°
But do not fear, im the cool type of geek :D/
