New Alien Playfield (APF)

Postby Jasper2002 » Tue Mar 15, 2005 2:52 am

Here are some links to guides for the new Alien Playfields.

The rules for these playfields are strict but fair and you must understand them to ensure that you do not get yourself banned.

Rules:

Rule 1 - Never loot a Power of Mind or Muscle. Hold the loot open and shout in the apfbot channel that you have found a POMuscle/POMind and the QL. This will then be raffled and the winner will collect from you. Failure to do this or just looting will result in a ban.

Rule 2 - Never attack either a tower or The Rookie. Although easily targetted these will never forget you attacked them and will hit you for 50k damage in return, result instakill and reclaim. Keep very good control of pets as there have been instances of rampant pets on Hunt wiping entire teams.

Rule 3 - If you win a raffle you cannot enter any more, this is to offer an even chance of everyone winning something.

Rule 4 - Never ninja loot off a General, instant ban and reporting to a GM is the result. A number of people have already been banned for this.

Rule 5 - If you get nominated for a Kill Team (KT) or Tank Team (TT) then you must go to them, no excuses.

Rule 6 - No leeching raid points. Do not join the bot and raid if you have not attended the APF. Again, a bannable offence.

General guidelines:

Arrive at the APF early, about 40 mins before the gates open to sort your teams and callers.

Always check your target before engaging.

Never run ahead of The Rookie

Always join the raid

Post everything looted in the raid bot channel, some are raffled, others you can keep, but in the heat of battle it is easier to post than to decide.

Commands:

If you are a member of the APF Bot (called apfbot surprisingly) then you can use these commands
!showloot : Shows the looted items available for raffle.
!time : Time until gates open
!showteams : Shows assigned teams
!raid join : Join the raid
!loot : Shows the loot available in the zones

You can become a member by asking one of us who is already to get an Admin to add you to the bot. You must be level 205 minimum to be on the bot and join the raid and earn points. Below that level you are welcome to come a long, you just won't get any loot.

Just some extra info, if the loot has a lvl requirement like the 2.5k token board and the belt you won't be able to enter raffle for the item without having the requirements to use it. You'll be earning raidpoints when you're at the raid anyhow so you'll save up points for when you can use the item.

That sounds like a lot of fun, thanks for the info!
How long do these Areas usually take to clean out?

Each raid lasts about 45 minutes from when the gates are opened, but it seems like less. It is a mad rush for axp with everyone rushing to the next spawn of aliens wanting the kill rights.

In zone 28, Protect The Rookie we all pretty much know when to expect spawns and where static groups are, but the Rookie walks so slow at times it is funny. Everyone rushes ahead to grab the aliens, then runs back and wlaks behind The Rookie, then rushes forward etc, do this for 45 minutes and it becomes frantic and a whole lot of fun :)
