Emergency RP event character needed!

Postby Ryorea » Thu Feb 20, 2003 7:31 pm

OOC:

So as I've already told a couple people, I'm taking part in an RP event that involves killing neutral scientists' omni friends this Saturday (see my RP story thread). The person organizing the event originally recruited two of us for this but now it looks like more omnis are showing up that she expected.

So she's looking for one more clanner who must be in the level range 60-85. It's highly preferred if you're one of the following professions: fixer, agent, trader, crat, doctor. It's also highly preferred if you're already decent at PvP or have somewhat good equipment. If not, she'll try to provide you with better equipment if possible (on this short notice). You'll get to keep the equipment and you might also be compensated in creds for your time.

The event's going to be at 20.00 GMT (that's 3pm EST) this Saturday but we're probably not going to be needed until about an hour after that. Contact her if you're interested in this: kalitt@hotmail.com. She needs people who are definitely going to be able to make it at this time.

Thanks.

While the "hired thugs" did get whooped, this turned out to be something of a success, I hope, Ryo ;)

I wonder how Pete is going to react....

Thanks for the help on this Sun and Flame. The clan attack ended up being somewhat confused and we were thoroughly killed. ;p However Hejiro had an impressive showing by sauntering up to the omnis (after the rest of us got killed) and saying something like, "Have any of you seen a scientist?" "You have 5 seconds before we kill you." *blamblamblam*

I found out that our little attack scared the pee out of the omnis. It also scared the researcher they were trying to guard.

The researcher (Iconis) had the quote: "I came, I saw, I soiled myself." I think we bred quite a bit of paranoia. ;p

<laughs> Yes, Hej had some fun there, though he feels bad that it seems he had been waiting in the wrong spot and actually missed the ambush.

For those who missed the "debriefing" (and all the mind-numbingly hillarious quotes) here's what I did:

I'd missed the fight, heard that the other clanners had been killed. Now, I'd be waiting as a wolf out in the desert for ages, so went to go see the battle field.

There was a team of omnis standing there, talking to each other. I stopped a little ways from them, wolf in flaming sparkles, just watching. They seemed oblivious for a good minute, before two turned and took a step toward me. And we just stood there, gazing silently for a short while. (I would LOVE to know what the chat was I couldn't hear at this point).

So that was boring, but I didn't want to jump into a fight straight away, so I targetted this perfectly positioned shadowmutant -- it was RIGHT NEXT to one of the omni. My guns rang out (you know those adventurer things... huge cannons... you need earmuffs). The monster was down, I started calmly walking forward.

I sauntered up to a kitty (/me sniffs) and then looked around.
Me: Well this looks suspicious.
Kitty suddenly has a taste for... wolf.
Another omni: I strongly suggest you leave!

I looked around some more. They started casting nanos on each other.
Omni: You have 5 seconds to leave!
Me: Five seconds isn't very long.

I padded toward the scientist.
Me: Have any of you seen a scientist around here?
Kitty: eep
Omni: NOW!

You were hit for GODLIKE nano damage.
You were hit for INSANE projectile damage.
You hit someone but I think they shrugged it off.
You were hit for UNSPEAKABLE melee damage.

LOL. Oh, I loved it.

So I think the omnis were still in shock from the initial attack or they'd have noticed you walk up to them earlier. ;p Again they were *really* surprised that they were attacked by clanners and also *really* paranoid when they first got to the Trogg Valley location.

I think that when Hejiro appeared they were debating what to do with the scientist, who'd almost been murdered and was probably gibbering incoherently (well I guess he'd been doing that for the whole event but that's a different story). They weren't exactly sure whether to escort him to Newland or not and he wasn't offering much help. I think there didn't seem to be a clear leader in the team and they hadn't been instructed on the details of the situation.

Then they noticed Hejiro and the fun started. You might be amused to note that the omni who shouted "NOW!" was one who's quite opposed to PvP and sounded very shaken up by the whole thing, especially since she takes her teammates safety very seriously. But by this point she wanted vengeance. ;p

There were a few other pretty funny quotes involved with the event on the omni side.

Event briefer: "I'm sorry I'm late!"
One omni: "That's all right, we were all amusing ourselves by sniffing this tree" (they were in wolf form)
Event briefer: "I hope that the tree doesn't have...strange hallucinogenic properties?"
Another omni, who hadn't arrived at the briefing location yet: "Hallucinogens? I'm on my way!"

There was some very funny OOC communications between the event coordinator (who didn't go with the group of omnis) and one of the people in the group of 6 who was a higher-ranking officer.

Coordinator: ((Why are you taking so long?? Get over here, the plot characters need to leave!))
Officer: ((We're having an argument and they're not listening to me! I'm saying we should just use this part I have in the bank, but they say we should give the scientist a fresh one. But that's going to take a lot longer!))
Coordinator: ((Tell them to just use the old part. They don't go stale. :P You're the highest ranking officer in that group. Do me a huuuuge favor and pull rank.))
Officer: ((Pullling rank now...)) *15 second pause*
Officer: ((Okay, we'll be at the rendezvous point in 2 minutes.))

And after the event:
Event briefer (another scientist): Iconis, you did quite well with your field work.
Iconis (the scientist who was being shot at): Thank you. I thought I did a good job. I didn't even soil myself!
(at this point, a few of the omnis glance at his pants)
Event briefer: With your good work, I believe the laboratory should send you out on more field missions.
Iconis: Uhhhh...no! I mean, I'm really busy in the lab!
Event briefer: That's strange. Every time I walk past your desk, you mention that you don't have much research to do. I believe there are some field tests that need to be perfomed in Mort.
Iconis: I can't! I'm going on vacation!

Iconis is terrified. After the event, the player behind Iconis had a few problems along the lines of: "I'm stuck in character! I think I see a spider-shaped shadow! *cry*"

For any interested people, the story behind the omni side of the story follows.

So the omni side of the story was that one of their guild members (the event coordinator/briefer) was a scientist who worked for the NISC. So she convinced some of her guildmates to take part in helping them collect some emergency specimens that were stolen in the lab robbery.

The team of omnis had to go find monster parts of certain QLs, then meet up with the event briefer. When they met up with her, she told them that they had to go bring the specimens to a scientist (Iconis) who was out in Trogg Valley (Stret West Bank) doing field work. This scientist knew how to process the parts, and so forth.

So they went out there and heard the whole Iconis thing. ("I do this kind of research, I'm reaaallly afraid of spiders"). Then our clan attack occurred. Then the omnis decided to bring Iconis back to Newland where he would be safe, and met up with the event briefer there.
