Swedish is quite similar to norwegian.

"Why did the chicken cross the road?"
would be
"Hvorfor krysset kyllingen veien?"

I seem to have this strange habit of completely changing topics from their original path...

Yes, I think your problem is that you may be scared to open new threads all by yourself. That way you invade other threads with strange statements..

Hehe, perhaps. I think it's because topics like Amigas and Swedish pick-up lines aren't appropriate thread starters on an AO forum

At last I am connected in a proper way!

2.5 Mbit Adsl connection from today. The long wait is finally at an end. Bye bye lag, welcome speed!

Wow Felicity! That must be incredible after being on modem. What's the upload speed on your ADSL? I guess you shouldn't have much trouble hosting this site then ;)

Thanx!

The upload speed is 750Kb/s It should be quite ok. The problem on this site isnt the connection. The server Blade has this site on is a Pentium75 with 64Mb RAM :P

Doc: I have lots of space in my puters since earlier.. And now the disks are cheaper than ever here. I get 80Gb for around $100 or around £70 for you hehe..

Cogs, the contact on the isp told me that they will have a new service thise fall. 6Mbit adsl :o Will cost more though... (/me asks the boss for salary raise...)

I'll contact Blade about the site thing. I know it runs on a linux machine, and I must confess, I'm no Linux hacker. So I need help in either convert the site to IIS or install a Linux OS on one of my machines (OI!) The PHP-code differs slightly between the platforms, but I think it can be manageable.

linux is easy to install, but hard to use. You can always install php and sql support on a windows based system.

Oh, I have php and mysql installed on my IIS, thats no problem.. The problem is my lack of knowledge in php. Since the code differs between Linux and Windows platforms, there will be need for some touching up in the code. There isnt much, just every other line in the code :)

From my experience from php and mysql the only things you would need to change is the adress to your sql database and maybe some adress ines, but they should all be easy to find.

Perhaps, but last time we tried to transfer the site there were much more than a few lines of code that needed to be changed.
