They also rewamped the skilltree. Now you get a sense of RPG in it all aswell. You need to carfully monitor where to allocate skillpoints on your dogs of war. Because in order to wield those ultracool machine guns and rockelaunchers (wich btw can be mounted underbarrel as a grenadelauncher aswell), you need some of the men trained to wield them. Also some new profesions like: Leader, commando, stalker and Technician. All with special equipment that needs people trained in order to use. There is also 3 levels of training in each profesion, giving your soldiers even more power for each level. A level3 doc can revive a dead team member. A level 3 gunner will get extra HP and wont stagger when hit by bullets, letting him keep firing with an evil grin on his face while bullets pound into his kevlar suit.

Try Play.com, Syrii...not sure what prices are in UK in regular stores. But for a simple norwegian, i saved about half of what I would pay in Norway. Also shipping for free.

Proper machineguns? Hell yeah! Nothing beats having a big bad cyborg standing in front of the others with his M60 going totally berserk...

I used to love the slogan on the advertisement for X-COM Interceptor. ‘Out there on the edge, where fire fights fire….. our future burns’

X-COM rocks

Perhaps I should direct some of the officials at Cenega to this here thread and ask for some payment for this advertising I am conducting here?

Ahh... I fondly remember UFO: Enemy Unknown... used to play it for nights on end... that and Doom 2... that must have been what...? 1994?

I always felt completely intrigued when you finally got the research results on some alien part or the other...

Yea, to this day, UFO Enemy Unknown is my all time favourite computer game. Closely followed by Elite, Way Of The Exploding fist, Shadowfire and Paradroid (Amiga version) :)

While we are at historic games....

does anyone remember the space shoot'em up "R-Type"... It ran on Amiga, Commodore and Stari ST...

I used to play it at my buddies house (my mum wouldn't by me a C64) like forever...

oh hell yeah, R-Type was awesome, insanely hard too but brilliant :D

i THINK I completed it, but not quite sure since I had it on the Speccy 48k and it was a lil hard to save games on those or even find a game with a savegame function ;)

I remember it being so bloody difficult due to the fact that levels had 2 points where if you died you restarted at; beginning and mid-way. Only problem was, starting mid-way through the level, you had no weapons except your basic one or any shields etc at all
