Fast-reet Takeaway (or: Desert Hell)

Place to hang out and talk about anything.

RKFFer Feyth and myself were out on a mission recently, which took us into deep desert down the Longest Road. For speed we travelled in reet form.

The road itself was rather quiet and uneventful, but the desert is a dangerous place indeed. We became the target of a number of stray wolf and scorpiod, and only just made it to the mission cave.

We rested in the cave 'foyer', then continued to successfully complete the mission, for which we both received a Clan token (although mine was kind of... looted) and also gained a level of experience.

Then came time to return to West Athens. We made our 'escape' plans, expecting to be jumped by nasties as soon as we stepped back into the desert. To our good fortune there was no danger in the immediate area, but we spotted roaming wolves. I quickly put us into reet form again, and we set off.

Now I had no idea we were in the fast-food business, but quickly we gained the attention of hundreds of ravenous scorpiods, spiders, and wolves!! I had a huge trail chomping my tail feathers, and was surrounded by many many more. It was an amazing sight! The desert was a crawling carpet of bugs. My heart was pounding, my wings straining, but I knew we had no chance of survival at the mouths of these beasts.

Fortunately we had scanned beforehand in Bliss. We calmed down, had a rest, and then an easy flight back to West Athens.

I did manage to snap a couple of photographs, which I hope to put on the gallery soon. Amazing stuff.

Here's the photographs. Unfortunately I didn't take them at the right time to show ALL the nasties in the area.

damn! I heard you over the guildchannel that night. Didnt realise you were in such trouble, I thought you watched someone else being devoured....
How did they get so many? Did you fly around picking them up on the way or were you ambushed?

Now that's gotta be a great place for hunting

As we were flying along, we were attempting to 'dodge' between groups of creatures, but unfortunately due to the 'domino aggro' effect -- one thing attacks us, calls to close-by friends, who in turn call their friends -- we soon had almost every creature in the area running at us... Very funny

Yes, we certainly died. That was how we made it back to Bliss -- the quick way... But it did save us some travelling

I had a mission out at the longest road yesterday (one wich I in fact didn't finish) and when travelling to and from the mission area I had a chance to actually see the vast wildlife myself. They must have made changes to that area, because I've never seen so many mobs there before. Luckily I was quick enough and made it to Bliss in pretty good shape with only a small trail of spiders and coyotes...

I couldn't do the mission sadly, it was too many red mobs..
