*** Announcement ** Naming Ceremony. 5th Sep @ 1800 GMT

Postby rahmorak » Thu Sep 04, 2003 1:56 pm

Hi everyone,

The big moment is upon us, tomorrow night is the night we complete the transition into a new guild.

Tomorrow night is when we give the guild it's new name and someone is 3 million credits richer.

The evening starts with a chilled introduction by Cogs under the tree in West Athen. Attendees should be in place no later than 1800 GMT (1900 BST (UK), 2000 CET).

From there we wil travel to a site picked by Excalibur and then by the Roller-Rats.

At each waypoint we will be given a brief history of the old guild so that we do not forget the honourable and prestigious origins of our new guild.

After this, the actual naming of the guild will be carried out and then I am hoping we can all head out and kill one of the infamous characters that terrorise Rubi-Ka.

Be there, or be square.

West Athen Tree. 1800 GMT. (1900 BST, 2000 CET).

On that note, the prize money will be drawn from the bank funds, mentioning this for our treasurer :)

I'm sorry, this saddens me very much to say but I will not be able to attend that early. My RL obligations (Family) will not allow for me to get onworld at that time.
As one of the founders of RKFF I would like to express the joy I feel in regard for our three guilds now that the merger is complete. This is certainly one of the best things we have done, and I hope that the future truly will be as bright as it now looks.
RKFF has a long history, as I imagine both Rollerrats and Excalibus has. There has been ups and downs for us during the years, most good times I would say. We have grown to like each other alot and have had so many happy moments. When we started out we all were scared of the phear leets and malles out by the beach where we used to hunt. Back in those days there wasnt anything called team missions. We used to hang out at the island hunting small mammals. Our gathering point back in those days was the now well known tree in West Athens (I'm sure Cogs has loads of stories about that place :) .

RKFF has allmost allways been my home during my times on Rubi-Ka. Before I met Mamasboy I was during a short while with another group based out in Borealis. I decided to leave them and travelled to West Athen by foot where I found Mamasboy among others. RKFF has provided stability in the clans. We've had a mature way of life and have gathered people with great humour and maturity around us. We've allways strived to help each other out no matter what the problems have been. People who come to us usually have stayed because of the deep friendship and family feelings we have towards each other. Those who left have often expressed how much they miss us.
I think thats about the best testimonial a guild can have.

To the old RKFF'ers: Thanks loads for all the good times I have experienced with you guys. You all know I regard you as family. You have brought light and comfort during bad times, happiness and joy during the good times. Let that spirit live through to the new guild. Make it as much your home as RKFF has ever been and embrace the people from Rollerrats and Excalibur with equal friendship as you have shown during these years.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I too, wont be able to make it as I'll be embarking on my 5 hour drive to my gorgeous girlfriend's house in sunny Wales however, 99.9% of you know quite well, I'm so addicted to ao and talking to you guys, I can't even clean my own pots and pans in the kitchen without running back to the keyboard, hands soaking to carry on chatting so as I was going to leave the PC at home for a change, I'm actually not. I can get away with it cos there are a couple of select programs which my g/f watches religiously on the TV tonight and they are absolute crap. I'll be nipping out to log on instead so I'll hopefully be there to see this new name for myself.

hehe, I even tried oh so hard to persuade my friend Auro to let the name slip in case she knew it but alas, she didn't. Well, I'm an agent aren't? I supposed to use people for information ;)

So... I'll be seeing you guys tonight no doubt. Enjoy the ceremony though and I apologise for not being able to make it :(

I might be able to be on in chat, but if you are using vicinity chat - it wont do me much good.

So, "good luck, good hunting, and good fishing!"
(and I'll give anyone 1 million credits that can identify the source of that quote)
