Well you probably already know, but if some of you crazy fixers don't, this seem to be the new super fixer weapon of choise

Drops from Conflagrant spirit in Inferno, droprate about 1/20, and probably pretty camped...

Thanks MissC, we certainly do know about it... it's the most wanted gun on the planet for every fixer... I'll need the help of several peeps with inferno access though to get me one of these... so I'm not overly optimistic... but a fixer can dream can't she ;)

I was at Vanya one day and overheard a fixer talking about the gun. She gave the impression it wasn't too hard to get (yes, I can hear you all laughing now ;))... you just need to battle against the 24/7 campers and spent several hours waiting for a drop.

But the drop rate at least is countable. Unlike some weapons (Chef Cleaver )

What eats me when it comes to these kind of drops and mobs, is all those people NOT needing that gun. They only camp it so that they can sell it for insane prices to those unfortunate ones not able to sit there for hours on end. And there will be camping for hours on end with all those people there wanting to rip other players off rather than letting the "fixers" kill for getting a gun that they can use. It happend with the soldier gun...

The soldier gun in question was not soldier only though - so a lot of other professions wanted it as well MP's, Engi's, NT's (!), Fixers and so on. The low req's combined with the uber damage made it too good to pass on for a lot of professions. The fixer gun is fixer only so there's not that many professions that have a need. They could have fixed the camping in question easily by making it NODROP though - which is unfortunate that they didn't.

To be honest, I'm sooo glad they didn't make it NODROP... It at least means there is more of a chance fixers can get the gun from friends... just ask Traders if they like how the Mud is NODROP ;)

Thing is, all things come to those who wait... so eventually, by hook or by crook most fixers will be able to get their hands on one... at least that's what I keep telling myself ;)

I guess that's true F, but the difference between the Mud and the Syndicate gun is that the Mud drops randomly off unredeemed mobs, while the Syndicate gun drops from a small selection of mobs.

Making it NODROP would force the fixers that wants it to get access to Inferno and be part of the camping though.

Making that gun nodrop would be by far the best solution imo. The way it is gonna be now is camping galore. Camped by people that are gonna screw fixers over by selling it for tons of money. And fixer are in turn gonna chose to either camp the mob, or camp something else to get enough cash to buy the frikkin thing. Seeing how it drops from only a selected type of mobs, shouldnt make it to hard to get even if nodrop.

Well... the same thing goes for Soldier Turnspirits. The solution, the soldier community eventually came to, was team up, don't flame at each other and try OD other profs. I think a team full of fixers or two easily outdamage a normal team. You would have to have a full team of soldiers walking in to actually be ODed.

Yes, NODROP would solve the problem of others trying to make a profit, but I think the disadvantages to fixers far outweigh that solution... ie. it's from one mob, in Inferno... to get to inferno u need the boots/ring... to get the boots/ring take a shed load of effort...

Now I don't mind putting effort in to get gear, but imo you're just shifting the problem to another camp, not fixing the real problem; that the gun is such a rare drop... but I guess you could argue that such a great gun _should_ be hard to get...?

<shrug>I don't think FC really care, they've said time and again they 'hate creating camping' ... but wot do they do to improve it... not much... eg. last patch increased drop rate of spec books, great! oh but wait, only on named mobs... so everyone has to camp the same mobs again... seems at odds to their stated aim of 'less camping' to me?

Anyway, <-- Fixer wtb Messenger Gun, will trade for a lapdance ;)
