For the non speaking norvegian:

The thread starts out realy innocent. Just a guy who is planning to buy a new CD/DVD asks another HI/FI freaks for advice under the nick ELEL6200. His question was: "Can anyone tell me what DVD/CD i should buy? Should cost aprox 6000 NOK." From here on he prolly guessed that it was a "is Sony or Pioneer better thread". He sure wasnt thinking the next post was posted with the same nick.

"Hi Honey. Its not easy to get in touch with you, so im trying to get ahold of you this way. When did we agree to buy a new DVD player???? Would be apretiated if you could atleast talk to me about it first?? Im not always remembering to go these pages to check if your buying new items. PS: Log off next time, if you want to keep something hidden from me. Big kiss, Linda"

Its a sure shot that the other users of this HIFI forum had a good time about this public humiliation (sp?). Alot of wise comments on who's wearing the pants and such. And not many advice on what to buy. So of course he had to respond:

"Im obvious not the only one in this house who communicates through HIFIcentral (the forum), so now i have to go up to the bedroom to confront my better half. PS: remember to log of, BEFORE you hand over the PC to the "purse and shoe buyers"

THIS isnt something Linda couldnt let go so the following day she wrote:

"Hi again hon. You prolly didnt think i could get in again did you? But we girls can do almost anything. If there are other better halfs out there who wants to check what their boyfriend does all day, should go to the frontpage of hificentral, hit "log in" and.... poff... the password comes up, piece of cake. And to you my love: I dont think "purse and shoe buyer" isnt the most fitting. You KNOW i can buy more than that."

And it doesnt stop there. The other users of the forums realy like the posts Linda makes. They even want her to make a username and start writing in the forum. This makes ELEL6200 write the next day:

"You suggestion of linda as a user in this forum, isnt something i would like to see.I dont think you know what your getting into here. She has already mentioned her wish to start a thread called "skincare tips for HI-Fi-geeks with vitamin shortage" Dont punish me more than i have been"

But the wise post's and comments goes on. he hasnt revieved any good suggestions on what to buy. its prolly getting on his nerve, cause he writes:

"It has obvious been funny to you guys, but for me... not specialy funny. I'll trade her for some speaker cables. Doesnt have to be any good one's"

The thread goes on, with a hit count of (for now) 231 347 hits.

The thread has been covered by the biggest newspapers both in Norway and Denmark.

I read something similiar (in English albeit) on the WoW forums where these guys were posting about some PvP...owning each other and stuff...and then a few comments in one of the players replies to someone above.

This player basically tells one of the others player that he should be smart enough not to post on the Forums while he is grounded since his mother (the player posting) played the game as well and could easily access the site.

She proceeded to tell the rest of the forum not to expect to see 'Player A' for quite some time due to this new turn of events. That he would not be 'owning' anyone 'anytime soon'. Stuff like that.

Tons of ppl posted after this about how he got 'ownt'...or how it was funny as hell that his mother caught him. A few ppl, though, actually told the MOM off. Was weird and funny...I didn't read much but I was laughing hysterically.
