So...yeah.....Im in a rare good mood. Houston Astros have advanced to the final round of the MLB championship. Ok....time to go party.

Im kind of confused.. Isnt the world series an Us thingy?? or are other countries allowed to enter? Not that i know of other countries that playes baseball.

Americans are wierd. just look at american football. How many times do they actualy kick the ball in that game? seems that they tend to pick up the ball and run more than they kick it.... :mrgreen:

True that.

No..World Series was used in the old days because the US was the only contry that did it, and the term stuck, even though America isnt the only nation nowadays that plays it (THe Japanese are HUGE baseball fans).

And I hate American Football. I like real football (Or, Soccer as its know here) hell of a lot more.

Aye, if you wanna see men holding a ball and running with it, watch Rugby. If you wanna use the word football, then watch footie (or soccer).

American football is just a load of men with so much padding and protection, you cant even see they have arms and legs and all they do is move a few yards, have 30 minute break while the fans buy hotdogs, kick the ball, wait an hour for the cheerleaders to prance about, move a few more yards etc....

From what I have gathered, there is a lot of tactics going on in the playfield there (amercian football).
Coach:/g gather around! Now, this is what were gonna do *whisper...whisper...whisper* NOW GO GET THEM!
10 sec of running and pushing people about later.
Coach: /s TIMEOUT!
Coach: /t great guys, we got another 5 yards. Now were gonna do like this..*whisper...whisper...whisper*
(5 minutes later)
Coach: /t everyone get that?
Coach: /s NOW GO GET THEM!

and so on and so forth. Finaly some dude get to kick an eggshaped sack of leather between two bars. :shock:

This is a game where you get more points when you take the ball in your hands, and run from one end of the field, to the other. If you kick it, then you get only one point, and they call it football
