15.0 patch today

Postby Selavi » Wed Sep 03, 2003 1:46 am

The long awaited pre SL patch is due today. 8 hours for making the patch make the server, guess with my connection ill be online again sometime next week :-? But I it will all be good in the end hopefully

What do ye all expect of SL by the way?
I am hoping for more quests and the chance of becoming some sort of noob again. Apartments will be cool and of course I want to start exploring all the new places where no man has set foot before (expect all those that get the SL pack 1 week before me :-? ).

Well, if I'm going to be honest... SL could take another year to come out and I wouldnt be ready for it. I've never been big on researching into stuff or reading up on patches or new things. My learning comes from you guys and what I see in game so nomatter how much I actually do know or pick up, to me, I'll always be a n00b. So deep down, I'm scared of seeing you guys jump into SL knowing all there is to know and me being a total dimwit and not knowing anything.

I'm hoping to explore, spend time with my guildies in places we've never seen and just hang out in a new environment. I dont want us to be left behind the times and want us all to keep up with the new items but it all seems like a lot to take in. Time will tell and I hope I get all the time I need to be there.

Well, I haven't ordered the SL thingie. And as it looks right now I probably wont be in any near future. I'll stick to Rubi Ka a while and then see how things turn out.

bought SL yesterday, not preordered from funcom, but preordered from Akers Mic. Costs 300kr instead of 60EUR. Probably get it a week after everyone else, but i dont care to much about it.

What I am looking forward to is exploring on foot, solo or with comrades, to see the vistas and face the dangers that lurk... and die in new and wonderful ways, lol...

Anybody remember how it was to roam the lands with no prior knowledge of the zone except the rumours about the monsters therein? I think getting rid of yalms/flying will be a good thing, in that sense ;)

In addition to figuring out all the new stuff and items that will enhance my characters, of course.

I did in the start envy everyone with a yalm cause they was so free to move whereever they wanted, but after I got my own I don't feel free I feel addicted to use it, even if I'm only gridding to BS to do a mission I have to use it cause I have become too lazy to walk the 20 meters to the mission door. it really sickens me how lazy the men and women of rubi-ka have become. Flying over the wilderness u see noone on the ground except for a poor dumb n00b that can't afford a yalm. But is he really dumb? nahh he ain't he is actually smart enough to train his muscles and save some money for better things he also find the thrill of adventuring the vaste lands of Rubi-ka when he is trying to find his way home from wherever he is lost

So yea I'm also looking forward to use my feet again in the land filled with shadows

Yeah, I used to team up at 20K with the Omnis, travelling to get there on foot from Harry's was mega hard.... getting back was even harder at that level but I used to love it. pressing tab, seeing an enemy and using my head to think of ways to move around the mob. all these aspects of Rubi-Ka vanish when you get your yalm. Bear in mind, I was level 105 when I got mine cos until that level, I had absolutely no money.

One profession Ive neglected with Peggy and thats his advy. This weekend if i get a moment while at chikitaas, im gonna try to get hold of all my morphs and run around SL in style.

I have dedicated myself to using ONLY water vehicles...maybe a yalm if I ge tthe IP.

I personally love to travel through rubi-ka on my own two feet...I feel so free in the open world. No one for miles, just you, the forest, and that little brook from which you can cup your hands and take a soothing drink from its calm flowing waters....its that lack of exploration (Not enough areas like that...and we cant cook food!) that turned me off to AO...I have found to live with it though

AO realease was DREADFUL... but people stayed with it. Why?

Apart from the potential it was the sense of wonder, of exploration. I got my first vehicle (a Kodiak) about level 30ish I think, and my first Yalm when I was 80-100 after spending weeks blizting and selling to save up for it. E

Even then I just used the Yalm to travel to the Borgs, Shades, Snake pit, Bullies etc. Before that it was bot mountain, Temple area, OT camps, Rhino's (sorry!), etc.

I think SL will bring back some of that wonder although like Wire says we are all addicted to our Yalms and I am not sure how readily most of us will give them up.

Other than that, I am looking forward to SL because at last, it looks like I will be able to do decent damage as an NT. In 210+ missions I get countered 30-90% of the time, it is torture.

Roll on SL!

Nope Wire, 53% NR on the top nuke is VERY nice.. sure it will get resisted but not very often.

e.g.

At 2045 MC the person would need 3860 NR to have equivalent of 2045 NR on a 100% NR nuke.

IP is gonna be very tight at the high levels and i can quite see that NR is something that people will neglect, well concentrate on other things more at least.
