DAoC, EQ, and AO:The battle for my loyalty

Postby Volais » Mon Nov 10, 2003 4:36 pm

Ok...well my net is back up and....NOT kicking (Flows like syrup through a slim iron tube), and well..like I said, Im on the verge of exploration...to see the world of MMORPG's. I have *Ehem* "Liberated" DAoC and its two expansions and EQ and its 457,296 expansions. So..can yall sway me into staying with AO...or will I take a few months to explore. I have until Feburary to decide what MMORPG ill stick with (Thats when Xyther and Volais "Return to the source").

Oh...and I found out something cool about DAoC. When your not in attack mode...your character actually has their weapon sheathed. (As in...your sword is connected to your belt until you remove it). Isnt that awsome?!

this is the 3rd time you want people to persuade you to stay with AO.

no offence pal, but considering the response you are getting ....

leave Anarchy Online ... NOW!

Volais, I see it quite simply as a matter of preference - which game gives you the best times online? It's not for us to tell you what you should or should not do. And frankly, if you're not addicted to AO yet, then why play it? I would choose one and stick with that, as you can't get anywhere by trying to play them all. Well, at least not if you have studies or a job to take care of :)

I have to agree with Smacdevil and tell you that you need to stick with one and play it til you need to move on. My own advice is not as harsh as Lindbeck's as I'm not really sure where that anger came from. What I will say is I think you like shopping around to find newer things. Go with what you like and what you think you'll enjoy. If there's nothing out there, stick with ao. It's simple but don't count on ppl asking you to stay, not because they won't ask you but purely because this is not the basis for a decision regarding such a time consuming pastime.

Make a decision and stick with it.

lol, ignore Jpegg over there rahmorak, i too have been testing the SWG waters. I have made no decision yet on what game to stick with as SWG has it's huge downsides as well. But i tell ya one thing...in the few weeks i've been playing SWG, i've been disconnected from the game a total of 4 times. Compared to AO's 4+ times A DAYcrashes it's pretty damn stable. Even if i decide not to keep playing SWG, AO is looking to be in very poor shape. Even with this new patch they managed to slip in more bugs and stealth nerfs along with the love (reload button YAY! we've only been begging for it for 2 years)

Mr. Volais...i can only tell ya to weigh your options and pick the game you have the most fun in. Or...if you have the time and money...play them ALL! :D
